The Nitecore brand has become synonymous to safe and convenient battery charging. An optimized charging system monitors the entire charging process and ensures voltage is always within safe limits to help extend battery life. And both IMR and Li-ion battery types are supported in multiple sizes like 18650, 18350, 20700, RCR123 and more. During charging, a red LED will illuminate. When completed, a green LED will signal batteries are fully charged. The charger also incorporates reverse polarity, short circuit and overcharging protection to prevent damage to the unit and batteries. If anything unusual is detected, the unit will alert you by blinking red above the corresponding battery slot making the Q4 charger a safe choice for all your charging needs.

Optimized for IMR batteries

IMR batteries are prone to overcharging because of their extremely low internal resistance. This could lead to safety issues when charging IMR batteries on devices that are designed for lithium-ion batteries. To address this problem, Nitecore has optimized the Q4 with a system that is able to monitor the entire charging process to ensure that end voltage is always within safe limits – which ultimately helps extend battery life.

Battery restoration

The Nitecore Q4 is capable of activating depleted lithium-ion batteries with protective circuit. After inserting the battery, the Q4 will automatically test and activate the battery before charging.

Note: Do not charge over-discharged (zero volt) unprotected lithium-ion batteries.

Charging lithium-ion batteries without protective circuit may cause fire or explosion.

Overcharge protection

With overtime prevention, the Q4 will individually monitor the elapsed charging time for each battery slot and if a particular slot exceeds 15 hours, the Q4 will automatically stop charging and the green LED indicator will illuminate to indicate completion of the charging process. This feature reduces the risk caused by batteries of lower quality.

Reverse polarity and short circuit protection

The Nitecore Q4 automatically detects reverse polarity. If you insert the battery in the wrong direction, the LED indicator of the corresponding battery terminal will flash red in rapid succession.

If a short circuit occurs, the Q4 will also notify you through a flashing red light.
